Greyhounds WA Northam

Greyhounds WA Northam is located about an hour's drive east of Perth in the heart of the Avon Valley.

The track was constructed in 1996 and is maintained by the Avon Valley Greyhound Racing Association (AVGRA) under the guidance of WAGRA. The track was built inside the Northam trotting track and provided the first dual-use racing facility in WA. The track is a clay-based surface with an above-ground Bramich Lure system.

Twenty-six meetings are programmed Monday afternoons between the months of May through to October. During the racing season the first race commences approx 1.00pm and the last at 4.30 pm.

Full totalisator facilities are available on-course. A Dining Room and Bar are open on race days with Members enjoying their own special afternoon tea and bar facilities.

Nominations for all Monday meetings close at RWWA Racing Services at 8.30 am on Tuesdays. The box draw is conducted at RWWA Racing Services and is published by 4.30 pm on nomination day.

Kennelling time is between 12.00 noon - 12.50 pm, while the first race is held at approximately 1.20 pm.

Public trials are held every Saturday between 7.30 a.m. and 9.00 am Trials are held from the 509m and 297m boxes. Fight-backs are also held on Saturdays. Qualifying Trials are held on race days between kennelling and the first race. Nominations for Qualifying Trials close at 8.30 am the Tuesday prior.
