Doomben Racecourse

Doomben Racecourse is located at Hampden Street, Ascot, Queensland. It is situated around 7 kilometres from the Brisbane central business district.

Doomben race track is operated by the Brisbane Racing Club.

The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) was formed on 1 July, 2009 - the result of a merger between the Queensland Turf Club (QTC) and Brisbane Turf Club (BTC). The recent amalgamation of the former two clubs is a first of its kind for the Australian racing industry making Queensland the current industry leader.

The first race meeting was held at Doomben Racecourse in 1933.

It has circumference of Doomben Racecourse is 1,715 metres with a straight 350 metres long. Doomben Racecourse is another of those tracks with tight turns making it hard for horses out wide in the run to win. Front runners and on pace runners again have an advantage.

Doomben Racecourse is the home of the Doomben 10,000, Doomben Cup, Lord Mayor's Cup, and the Premiers Cup.

As the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland, the Brisbane Racing Club conducts more than 90 race meetings. Race meetings are conducted at the Club's two race tracks, Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses.
